My dear beloved in Christ, I greet you all in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I praise God who has led us all in good health thus far.

The Holy Bible says, God made a covenant with Israelites and made a solemn promise :

 “12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.”  ( Leviticus 26:12 )

We see the heart of God as given in Leviticus Chapter 26 verse 7-8:

“ 7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.”

The mighty Lord wants to walk among His people not only to protect them from their enemies, but also to deliver enemies in their hands. God did not limit this blessing with Israelites alone. Whoever believes in Him and accept Jesus as his personal Saviour is given the right to be in the lineage of Abraham. Our Lord is truthful. But He expects a certain discipline from us for  inheriting this blessing :“14 For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee” (Deuteronomy 23 : 14 )

We should keep away from the accursed things which are an abomination in the eyes of the Lord and remain holy. Prophet Jeremiah makes this as a prayer to God:

“ 7 O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name's sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.

8 O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night ? “  (Jeremiah 14: 7,8)

Jeremiah makes his supplications to the Lord, not to forsake His chosen people, even though their sins and transgressions are many.

Patriarch Jacob on his journey to Bethel, asked every one to cleanse themselves before worshipping the Lord in the place where the Lord had appeared to him before. It is written that, after this, the Lord saved them from their enemies.

“2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:

5 And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.” ( Genesis 35 : 2,5)

The word of God says that Jacob buried all the accursed things under the terebinth tree.

Yes, my beloved in Christ, so also when Joshua burned the accursed things in the unlawful possession of Achan, the Lord gave them victory over the city of Ai  where they had taken a miserable defeat earlier. (Joshua 7:20-26 and 8:21).

We have to remove all accursed things away and keep us holy. Then the Lord God will walk among us and deliver our enemies in our hands. And He will be our God. We will be His children. Our Lord is a covenant keeping Lord.

Prayer :  Dear God,

We praise you. Give us the strength to remove all the accursed things from our lives and keep us holy. This is not possible by our strength. But with You Lord, everything is possible. Please help us and bless us.

We seek this in the precious name of  our Lord Jesus Christ.
